Why not?
We often ask ourselves that question. It often leads to unexpected decisions.
In 2008 we bought a caravan and for a few months each year lived/worked/travelled in it. In 2012 we headed overseas for two months exploring Istanbul, the Greek Islands and Morocco. In 2013 we left behind our Melbourne home of twenty years (and in it two of our three young adult children) and with our fifteen year old daughter in tow made the 2000km journey north to Caloundra, Queensland, fulfilling a dream to live by the sea. One year turned into two, we lived in one state and Colin commuted to work in another. In 2015 we moved way south, returning to Tasmania, the place we both grew up. Mid 2016 saw us return to Victoria, choosing the coastal town of Barwon Heads as our home.
We have loved wandering these last few years; being in beautiful places, experiencing amazing things, meeting wonderful people.
Blogging started out as a way to stay connected with family and friends. We soon came to realise its value as a record of our journey, capturing moments and memories, documenting the unfolding story of our attempt to live a life without regret.
While our wandering may be on hold for the moment, the story continues and so to does our desire to have a record of it.
Now is the time for being still for a while, for putting down roots and belonging to a community again. We have not given up our wandering ways, just put them on hold while other things take centre stage. There is a house to sell and a house to buy, a small town and community to make our own, an 'empty nest' to navigate and the dream of another caravan to pursue.
Another beginning, another part of the journey, another chapter in the story...
